Miraculous face masks are one important skin care item that should be used regularly if you are wanting to step up your skin care routine.
Like any other skincare product, it’s important that you choose a face mask to suit your skin type as well as target your skin’s ever changing needs.
Just like the weather, your skin will change with the seasons, becoming oilier in the sizzling summer months and drier during the chilly winter months.
Luckily, there is a mask for every season, and skin type.
Clay and Mud Masks
Ideal for oily skin types, clay and mud masks are a fantastic pick-me-up for the skin, as they absorb excess oil and impurities before they can cause blemishes.
They’re an ideal way to tighten pores, reduce shine and clear troublesome blemishes giving your skin a smoother appearance.
Once applied, they dry on your skin over a period of 5-15 minutes.
To remove the mask simply add luke-warm water to re-activate the mask, then wash away dead skin cells, dirt and grime at the same time.
Best results use once or twice a week maximum.
Exfoliating Masks
Every skin type will get a build-up of dead skin cells from time to time, creating dull uneven looking skin, which can potentially lead to acne, blackheads and excelarate visible ageing.
Exfoliating Masks will help to keep your skin in perfect condition because of the gentle exfoliating action these masks provide.
These masks cleanse and exfoliate at the same time making them the perfect solution to reverse a dull complexion that has become clogged up.
These masks glide on like a clay mask, gently massage mask over face in gentle circular motions then smooth on even layer over your skin and are leave to ‘air-dry’ for 10-20 minutes.
When ready, re-wet the mask with luke-warm water and gently rinse away, their tiny abrasive particles slough away the skin’s surface debris, leaving a smoother more radiant texture.
For best results use mask no more than 3 times a week.
Gel Masks
These masks are suitable for dry, oily and sensitive skin types.
Gel masks’ key ingredients are usually formulated with a mix of nutrients, antioxidants and collagen to nourish, rejuvenate and hydrate the skin.
Apply the gel mask to your skin, leave to process for 5-10 minutes.
Remove by soaking a face cloth in lukewarm water and apply it over your face.
Then, gently wipe the mask from your face ensuring all remaining gel has been removed.
Once the mask has been removed, follow with a nourishing moisturiser.
Use two to three times a week.
Moisturising Masks
These are ideal for mature and drier complexions because they work by boosting the moisture levels of your skin.
Moisturising masks are a soothing treat, especially after too much sun or when your skin feels neglected or tight.
Helping to banish dry patches, flakiness, and even out fine lines, these masks work quickly supplying intensive moisture to your skin.
Normally left on your skin for 10-20 minutes. Once the processing time is over, gently massage the remaining liquid into your skin.
The residue left behind will continue to work miracles until you next cleanse your skin.
Hydrating and moisturising masks can be used two to three times a week for most skin types.
Use two to three times a week
Peel-off Masks
Ideal for all skin types, the gel is smoothed on, left to air-dry then gently peeled off.
Depending on the formulation peel-off masks can refresh oily areas, clear clogged pores.
Extremely beneficial for dry, mature skin types with extra hydration helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Be gentle when removing peel-off masks as you can damage your skin barrier if you are too forceful which can lead to complications like inflammation and irritation.
Use once a week
Sheet Masks
Responsible for giving an extra boost to your current skin routine, sheet masks are a relatively newcomer to the skin-care industry.
Normally made of fibre, cotton, cellulose, or coconut pulp, sheet masks allow your skin to ‘rest’ while being saturated in hydrating, brightening, or anti-aging ingredients.
These masks will leave your skin feeling rested, plumper whilst looking more radiant, brightened, luminous, in 15 minutes or less.
Depending on your skin type or concerns use sheet masks once or twice a week.
Any of our signature facials will help rejuvenate your skin and help improve its appearance and texture.
Bonus Tips:
• Always read any accompanying instructions carefully.
• To ensure skin compatibility, it is advisable to complete a test patch prior to using a new mask on your face.
• Always remove makeup and thoroughly cleanse your face before applying your chosen mask.
• Always follow your mask application with your chosen toner and moisturiser.
• If you have combination skin, use two masks – one suitable for oily skin and one for dry skin. Just apply each mask to the required areas.
• If applying your mask in the morning, be sure to apply your SPF after your moisturiser before leaving the house.
