Rainbow Eating for Chakra Balance

While not everyone has energy healing sessions to balance their Chakras, eating the colours of the rainbow may to help heal physical and spiritual ailments.

Think of Food as medicine not just in relation to its nutrient content, but also healing on a subtle energetic level.

Eating a rainbow of different coloured foods that correspond with each Chakra can help to realign and balance the seven main charkas.

Base Chakra

If you are feeling ungrounded and scattered, or exhausted and flat, eat red foods such as beetroot, strawberries, red apples,  radishes, tomatoes.

Root vegetables like carrots, sweet potato, pumpkin, potatoes, parsnips, garlic, onion and ginger to help ground and balance your Base Chakra.

Sacral Chakra

If you want to feel more creative and more connected to both as well as  help bring into alignment your masculine and feminine energies try eating orange foods.

The second chakra responds well to orange foods such as mangoes, oranges, melons, turmeric, mandarins, carrots and tallow/orange capsicum. 

Most citrus fruits are good for bringing balance to the Sacral Chakra.

Solar Plexus Chakra

If you are feeling you’re lacking self-confidence and willpower, or if you give your energy to others, call your energy back to and cleanse your person power centre by eating yellow foods.

To help balance the Solar Plexus Chakra eat foods such as bananas, pineapple, curries, corn, squash, lemons, mangoes, and yellow capsicum. 

Grains like quinoa, rice and buckwheat will also help.

Heart Chakra

Eat green foods if you need to tune into your heart space and infuse more love acceptance and forgiveness into your life.

Heart Chakra vegetables such as cucumber, celery, green apples, kale, broccoli, lettuce, spinach, avocados, limes, green herbs green capsicum will all help to balance the heart energy.

If you are feeling emotionally drained drinking a cup (or two) of green tea will help support you energetically.

Throat Chakra

If you’re finding it hard to speak up for yourself or can’t be truthful with others, cleanse your throat Chakra by drinking lots of herbal tea and eating blue foods like blueberries, blackberries, kelp, wheatgrass.

If you want to express yourself more easily and openly, or if you need to soothe your throat drink clean filtered water and plenty of warm herbal tea.

Third Eye Chakra

If you feel you are lacking clarity or want to feel more connected to your intuition indigo foods are a must.

The Third Eye Chakra intuition will increase by eating indigo coloured foods such as blueberries, grapes, plums, goji berries, blackberries, blackcurrants, eggplant, prunes and raisins – and even a little red wine!

Crown Chakra

If you are feeling unsupported and wanting to tune into your higher self, try eating lighter meals and drinking clean, purified water as well as herbal teas.

Your intuition may guide you to fast on weekends or want to try intermittent fasting during the week.

Intermittent fasting is where you leave a longer time period between dinner and breakfast and then consume all meals during an 8-hour window (say 11.00am – 7.00pm).

 

There’s nothing more inviting to the tastebuds then tasting the rainbow of colours on your plate.

Each Chakra has a different colour so it makes for an extremely colourful plate not to mention a healthy varied diet.
